A simple diagram and a bit of theory to explain why our shelving system is different to others. A system is a set of interdependent components forming an integrated whole. Closed systems are defined and bound, their components are isolated from their surroundings and they do not interact with their environment. Whereas open systems interface with the environment and permit interaction across their boundary. Our shelving system is open.
